www.constantinomendieta.com The fat transfer technique entails taking fat cells from one area of the body and augmenting another part. Dr. Mendieta will remove fat from the appropriate regions in order to accentuate the new buttock contour. However, if the patient does not have enough fat on the body to undergo this body contouring procedure, he will send them to Booty Camp, where he/she will have to gain weight in order to have it suctioned and transferred. In buttock augmentation, Miami, Florida plastic surgeon Dr. Mendieta will remove fat and shape the buttock area. Fat is then added to the buttock muscles in order to accentuate curves, shape, and contour, providing a more desirable appearance. With this body sculpting procedure, patients will achieve a more proportionate shape and eliminate pockets of fat in undesirable areas throughout the body.

Liposuction is a procedure that removes localized areas of fat in the abdomen, hips, buttocks, thighs, knees, calves, arms, cheeks and neck. Liposuction patients are usually in search of improved profiles in their numbers inside and outside of the garment. Liposuction is performed with a thin metal tube called a cannula is inserted under the skin to suck the fat away from the irregular contours, especially in the body.Liposuction can be done only with the cannula alone, however, often a solution is injected under the skin into the fat layer. This minimizes bruising, bleeding and postoperative discomfort that may be associated with liposuction. This is called the tumescent liposuction technique, but the volume of solution injected determines whether or tumescent liposuction “technique superwet. The new development in liposuction is ultrasound-assisted lipoplasty (UAL), which uses ‘injection of a solution, but also uses a cannula that emits ultrasonic waves to “melt the fat. It is important to recognize that liposuction is not a method of weight loss, but it is primarily intended for patients who are at or near their ideal weight.Abdominoplasty or Tummy Tuck is designed to correct a protruding abdomen resulting from weak abdominal muscles and excess skin, usually due to multiple pregnancies, prior surgery, or weight gain. Normally, the abdominal muscles are stretched and do not respond well to exercise. The goal of abdominoplasty is a more narrow flatness.Abdominoplasty is not a substitute for weight loss. Patients in a plan of weight loss should be close to your target weight before surgery. The procedure is usually performed by a U-shaped incision below one hipbone in the pubic area to the other hip bone. Loose stretched tight muscles with stitches and excess skin and fat are removed. Mini-abdominoplasty tightens the abdominal wall, which reduces scarring, while extended abdominoplasty tightens the abdomen and the parties resulting long scar that extends around the sides of the lower back. Although the payback period is longer than other cosmetic procedures, the rewards are great for a patient already troubled by a protruding abdomen.Considering cosmetic surgery is an exciting time. Imagine the possibilities and research not only procedures, but he is best qualified to help you achieve your goals. To select a board certified plastic surgeon who has some expertise and artistic ability to achieve the natural look you desire.

You may be a candidate for liposuction if you have excess subcutaneous fat, which is resistant to diet and exercise. Liposuction may also be desirable if you wish to change the contours of your body. Commonly involved areas are the anterior part of the neck (under the chin), upper arms and armpits, male chest/breasts, trunk, abdomen, waist, hips, thighs, inner knees, calves, and ankles. Most patients are near normal weight and desire permanent contour changes.
Improved techniques now allow larger amounts of fat removal. Liposculpture can be useful to heavier persons as well.
Liposuction is intended to produce a permanent improvement in the contour and proportion of the treated areas. A more flattering figure or physique, in or out of clothing, is another goal of liposculpture.
Liposuction is done on an outpatient basis. General anesthesia is usually used for safety and comfort. Small suction tubes (cannulas) are inserted through very short incisions placed in inconspicuous locations near the fat deposits, and excess fat is removed. If large volumes of fat are to be removed, we will probably ask you to donate one or two units of blood and take supplemental iron before surgery. Your own blood will be used as a transfusion at the end of surgery
The patient goes home with a compression garment (or tape) covering the treated areas. Compression is advised for about a month as it helps reduce swelling after liposuction. Once pain and soreness decrease, it is frequently more comfortable to wear lycra or spandex exercise pants. Initial discomfort is easily controlled with oral medication. Bruising and swelling usually subside in 2-4 weeks. The final result takes shape over 2-3 months.
Additional procedures that may enhance the result of liposuction are Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty), Breast Reduction, Thigh Lift, or Buttock Lift.
Liposuction is considered cosmetic and therefore is not covered by insurance. The patient is responsible for payment
The specific risks and the suitability of liposuction for a given individual can be determined only at the time of consultation. All surgical procedures have some degree of risk. Minor complications that do not affect the outcome occur occasionally. Major complications are rare.
Consider power assisted liposuction – The MicroAire PAL uses a 2-mm reciprocating movement at 4000 cycles per minute to facilitate the procedure. This means that less force is required, especially in areas with more fibrous tissue. That makes the lipoplasty procedure easier on patients. The PAL is not ultrasonic. No heat is generated by the instrument or cannula, so burning isn’t a concern.
Patient Benefits: less trauma, better results, no heat, means no risk of burning.

In tumescent liposuction, areas of excess fat are injected with a large amount of anesthetic liquid before liposuction is actually made. The anesthetic liquid causes the compartments of fat swollen and firm or “tumescent.” Fat compartments allow the liposuction cannula cover travel smoothly beneath the skin, remove fat. This type of liposuction can be used in any area of the body but is most common in areas that require precision such as facial, neck, arms, calves and ankles. The tumescent technique is a relatively new method to perform liposuction to reduce post-operative bruising, swelling and pain. Blood loss is minimized during tumescent liposuction, and this technique also reduces the chances that a blood transfusion will be needed during the procedure.Although blood loss is minimized with tumescent liposuction, patients undergoing the procedure still face the same risks associated with traditional liposuction. Some of the risks with this type of liposuction include pulmonary edema (fluid in lungs) and lidocaine lidocaine toxicity (too much).General anesthesia is often the best option for the tumescent liposuction procedure. Or, if appropriate, the tumescent solution may serve as the sole means of anesthesia for the procedure. Your plastic surgeon will examine all options of anesthesia with you at your appointment. The processThe warm tumescent fluid (containing lidocaine, epinephrine and intravenous fluid) is injected into the treatment area. As the liquid enters the fat, swollen, firm and pale. Liposuction is then performed in areas tumescent. The anesthesia used in the procedure can help relieve pain after a liposuction and decrease the need for additional analgesics to be determined. For the first two days after surgery, most patients experience swelling in areas that have been treated and drainage of fluid from the incision sites. Patients usually resume light physical activity in the first days after surgery, and normal physical activity can be resumed within weeks.Patients typically see a noticeable difference almost immediately after surgery. After three weeks, further improvements can be observed by most of the swelling has disappeared. After about three months, any persistent swelling disappears, and its shape and contour will be visible.Since all the liquid that is injected during the procedure was withdrawn, the weight after Tumescent liposuction can be the same or less than their original weight. As excess fluid and swelling of the tissues are treated by your body, your weight should normalize.Drainage from the incision is common with liposuction. Sometimes a small rubber tube drain is inserted under the skin for a few days to prevent fluid from accumulating. You may have to take antibiotics while the drains are in place, and as the main drain has stopped completely, you may need additional gauze pads to keep your clothes are wet.
